With a heavy heart, I resigned from my associate dentist position in Los Osos in July 2021. My heart has been filled with gratitude and joy while serving the community of Los Osos for the last four years, and I will miss you all dearly. You all welcomed me warmly and my favorite memories are the moments in which ya’ll share about your lives- the joys, and the struggles. It gave me courage and inspiration to learn from all of you.
Being an associate dentist at a dental practice comes with its limitations and defines me as an independent contractor who does not own the dental office. Therefore, I did not own your dental records and your confidential information. I know it is assumed from the patient’s perspective that the doctor would be able to contact you about their upcoming departure. And if you’ve been in the office the last couple of months, I may have had the opportunity to let you know it would be our last visit together. But in order to respect the dental practice owners’ wishes and respect patient privacy laws, I was not permitted to notify you about the change about the office via phone call or personal letter, for I do not own the practice or its records.
The good news is, I will no longer be having to move from practice to practice as an associate dentist nor engage with the limitations of being an associate! I have recently bought a dental office in Grover Beach, and the name of the practice is Rooted Dental Wellness. I am practicing and co-owning this practice with Ashley Beels, RDH MA. If you were a patient of mine during my associateship in Atascadero or Los Osos, you most likely had your teeth cleaned by her. We are very excited to collaborate on this practice together, where we will continue to offer comprehensive, systemic, preventative, and restorative holistic & biocompatible dentistry.
If you have any questions or concerns for me, please do not hesitate to call me at Rooted Dental Wellness. Our phone number is 805-270-4259. Our front desk will take a message, and I will call you back personally.
Wishing you all the best,
Dr. T
